Subsidy Programme for Student Members Presenting at the Conference

The Intercultural Education Society of Japan (IESJ) offers a conference fee waiver (refund) for student presenters who meet all of the following conditions.

Eligibility:

●Applicants must be student members enrolled in a master’s or doctoral programme who do not hold a full-time position at the time of the conference presentation. (Tenured faculty and specially appointed faculty are considered full-timers and are therefore ineligible.)
●Applicants must give individual paper presentations. Presenters in Group/Case/Panel presentations are not eligible.
●Student members who receive a research grant from their institution are not able to apply for the programme.

Application:

●Applicants must indicate that they are applying for the Subsidy Programme for Student Members when registering for a presentation.
●Applicants must pay the registration fee of 3,500 yen at the time of conference registration.
●After the registration is completed, the conference secretariat will verify that the above conditions are met based on the applicant’s submission.

Fee waiver (refund):

●The paid registration fee will be refunded by the IESJ Secretariat. The approved applicants must report to the Conference Main Office/Secretariat Room during the conference.

Note:

●This programme is conducted on a self-registration basis. Applicants’ failure to register in the programme at the time of application for the presentation will result in their ineligibility for the conference fee waiver. Reimbursements will only be made in accordance with the above procedure. If successful applicants do not report their application to the programme at the Secretariat Waiting Room, they will not receive a refund at a later date.
